SARS

	Overview
	Specialty is pleased to introduce the SARS (Coronavirus) DetectR™ for rapid, direct detection of SARS RNA in sputum, nasopharyngeal washes, bronchial washes and serum. Detection of SARS RNA by PCR precedes the appearance of antibodies.

	About SARS
	SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) is an unusual form of severe pneumonia. Generally, a patient has one or more of the following symptoms: history of high fever, coughing, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing and contact with an infected SARS patient within 10 days of onset of symptoms.
