Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute of Valencia is excited and pleased to announce a new comprehensive program for drug testing in the field of Pain Management. A number of opioid medications have been linked to increasing risks of diversion, noncompliance and abuse. In response, regulatory agencies have enacted more stringent measures to monitor and track prescription drug use. The goal of this program will be to help pain management practitioners meet state and federal regulations yet still ensure patient access to the pain therapies they need.
For patients with chronic pain, opioids not only relieve suffering, but also support normal daily functioning, alleviate stress, and improve sleep. Periodic urine drug testing can help to:
- Monitor your patient treatment plan
- Detect other non prescribed pain medication
- Manage pain therapy safety and availability for your patients by assisting with regulatory compliance
- Test for other drugs of abuse (cocaine, methamphetamine, etc.)
Specialized drug testing for prescribed pain medications address a variety of clinical and regulatory needs including:
- Physician compliance with state licensure and DEA regulatory requirements
- Pain Management Clinics that monitor pain medication compliance
- Detecting substance abuse in patients prescribed pain medications
