Specialty Laboratories now offers a revised Leukemia/Lymphoma
Flow Cytometry Panel that is modeled after proposed recommendations
of a NIH flow cytometry consensus conference convening this summer.
This panel incorporates specialized reagents and procedures developed
by Specialty/AmeriPath's foremost flow cytometry scientists
in conjunction with the Specialty /AmeriPath Hematopathology
Resource Committee comprised of noted hematopathologists and scientists
from across the United States. The new panel reflects the requirements
for:
- Standardization of flow cytometry procedures and interpretation
practices across all Specialty and AmeriPath locations
- Expanded analysis of all cell populations in the specimen
to fully characterize both the cellular immunophenotype and
respective DNA ploidy and proliferation index of each cell population
where applicable.
- Comprehensive review of results by both expert flow cytometry
analysts and board- certified hematopathologists.
In addition, Specialty now provides an enhanced full-color
flow cytometry report with photomicrograph images of the cells
of interest and a corresponding flow cytometry histogram highlighting
key antigenic markers of these cells. This special report provides
results in a fast, easy to interpret format which can be readily
shared with patients and other physicians who may treat the patient.
If you are a physician who would like to consult with a Medical
Director or Hematopathologist here about the advantages of this
new Leukemia/Lymphoma panel, please contact our Client Services
